David is Principal Lecturer in Digital Marketing and Faculty Lead for AI at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. He leads the faculty team responsible for developing policy and good practice embedding the use of AI in teaching, assessment, research and business engagement. He is co-author of 7th edition (and soon to be 8th edition) of Digital Business & E-commerce Management with Dave Chaffey and Tanya Hemphill. David has enjoyed several spells in academia as well as senior management roles in the digital sector. he helped set up Manchester’s second web design agency, Sozo, back in 1995, and was Chief Learning Architect at Academee from 1999 to 2002 He set up the UK’s first part-time MSc in Digital Marketing in 2007 for MMU, as well as their first full-time MSc Digital Marketing Comms in 2016.
